Prophet Owuor Is A False Prophet. We Must Not Become a False Congregation

A friend once told someone that, ‘ni umaskini inakusumbua.’ This is true especially within the African context of prayer and revival. People often argue that our God is rich so why should we be poor. Therefore, the immediate question we should ask is, ‘what is to be rich?’

For example, if all men have cars then are all men rich? If not, then is the man who has no car poor. This in essence means that all wealth is relative. In fact, wealth is not only relative but it is also a comparison between independent and distinct beings. This then means that one who has life must compare himself to another who also has life for him or her to be rich. In summary, there must be other gods for you to compare God with before you can call God rich. You cannot call yourself rich by comparing yourself to a rock, can you?

It can then be said that whoever advances this kind of argument may say that he is a Christian but actually, he is not a Christian. This is because his argument is blasphemous and against the monotheistic nature of Christianity. In other words, it is just a false argument to advance a personal agenda fueled by vanity and want.

Then there is the famous Prophet Owuor. I do not understand how people can say that Sean Carter (Jay Z), the Pope in Rome, the Rothschild Family and the US Federal Reserve are all members of the Illuminati but fail to mention ‘prophets’ such as Prophet Owuor. It is simply baffling if you think critically about it.

To begin with, what is Prophet Owuor prophesying? If Jesus is God and God walked among us, then what more can Prophet Owuor add that Jesus did not mention and then decided that Owuor would enlighten us? Have you ever heard of an MP speaking at a function after the President of the Republic delivers his speech? Are we not waiting for the end times after the Son of Man came? Does the Bible not say that no one knows the time of His coming? Again, the question begs, what is this man prophesying? All events, episodes and incidents that are to occur need no prediction and/or prophesying. The teachings of Jesus showed us how to deal and cope with those situations as and when they arise. We are to look up to Jesus and his teachings for guidance and not to false prophets here on earth.

Secondly, which apostle of Jesus ever accumulated wealth? Which prophet in the Old Testament was a rich man? There is nothing as blasphemous as the idea of a rich prophet. This is not only true in Christianity but in all religions the world over. Prophet Owuor is not only a rich man but is a man who openly flaunts his wealth. I would say, remember what Jesus said to the rich man who asked to be his follower but I am sure you already know the story. God is indifferent to wealth and its accumulation. This is the preoccupation of mortal men. However, God is very specific to those He chooses or to those who want to guide others into the spiritual realm. The few chosen by God or those who step forward are to give up wealth, grandeur and other earthly things. Your dear Prophet is nowhere close to giving up personal wealth, grandeur and earthly things. In fact, you could say that he is actively in pursuit of it.

Thirdly, can a servant put himself before his master? It can never be so unless the servant wishes to become the master. This is exactly what Prophet Owuor is doing. He is putting himself before the teachings of Christ. He is placing himself on a pedestal higher than the altar at which his sacrifice to Christ should lie. The man moves around like a king, loves it when the masses call out his name, basks in the limelight and is proud of the fact that he can call Presidents and Ministers on speed dial. This is not a man of God. This is a man of the world. You are to humble yourself before Christ. You are to sit at the far end of the table. You are to wash the feet of your servants and above all, you are to forsake all that is here on earth.

In conclusion, all men must and should forsake all earthly things for them to follow Christ. Preachers, pastors and priests should be at the forefront of giving up all that they own. However, the Church will undoubtedly have wealth. This is important to the Church so that it can carry out its functions, keep up its resilience in a globally dynamic world and build up itself to minister to others who have not yet heard the Good News. Personal wealth among this special group of Church leaders is un-Christian. You and your children can never and should never lay claim to what others have contributed to in the belief that they were contributing to God.

Finally, there were and there are no prophets after Jesus no matter how many times we put the prefix ‘Prophet’ before their names. Jesus still walks among us and none is worthy enough to proclaim himself a servant above other servants of Christ. There can only be pastors, preachers and priests. Anyone who called himself a prophet or calls himself a prophet in any given religion after the life and death of Christ is part of the establishment that will come to fight Christ.

  1. I think this text is based on half truths, or rather misrepresentations or on the extreme, lies. why do I say that? much as I may not have a good understanding of why prophet owuor calls himself prophet, It is ok for a person to call himself prophet, the bible talks about each of us being gifted differently (some apostles, some teachers, some prophets etc). Prophecy is a gift for your information Ephesians 4:11.

When it comes to riches and wealth, it is not forbidden for a man of God to have them, and yes tithes and offerings belong to pastors and the clergy in general, yes its theirs to eat as God says “bring your tithes and offerings so that there may be food in my house”. However, the clergy is not to put wealth first, God should be their prime focus. Put first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. If men of God are not to accept wealth and riches, then what sense do you make of this verse?

A servant is not greater than his master, that I agree, but under what circumstances would you say a servant is showing himself greater than the master? Certainly prophet owuor does not meet the criteria for such judgement, not unless he claims to do the miracles with his own might, well u know better whether he does that or not.

I am not a follower of prophet owuor, neither do i know much about him, but based on the information printed here, I would say you are misinformed about the bible, perhaps you need to dig deeper, or maybe read your bible more prayerfully. Prophet owuor may be a true or false prophet, that I dont know, but if he is a true prophet, will God will hold u guiltless over this claims? remember you will be judged in the same measure you judge others.
    Thanks alot for reading this.
    btw I like your articles.
and I am your big fan on fb.

    • Dr. Owour man is not true in a way reason being,
He claims to be the only prophet in the land, does not give room for correction, too arrogant, using impersonation (Christ) to scare people who are not rooted in the word of God, taking advantage of people’s problems to manipulate them. His strong pillar is the miracles in the crusades, even the devil performes miracles though shortlived. The story of moses and Egytian strongman.

One should go through the history of his so called pastors – something is hiden not spoken loud.

In Ephesians 4:11, the Church is build on Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers of the word. The man is operating only in the prophets office. There no elders in his congregation to balance the church. everybody in the leadership is called a pastor.

Their dressing is uniform meaning church of unification meaning cult (extremists). Women have left their families without attending to their daily mandate at home going to his crusades. The word of God says occupy until I come- he discourages people from engaging in nation building yet they want to eat, drink have good shelter.

Followers should compare themselves to the person they are following with huge riches yet condeming panda mbegu pastors though am not in agreement with panda mbegu pastors.

Dr David Owour is running a cult, should be checked helped if he is willing to. He should go to old retired men of God who have served God have experience of real life.
A house that has got no proper foundation comes down finally.

  3. Careful man..You may as well be the false prophet for speaking without facts and if it’s so God would strike you for talking ill of his true prophet like ‘Bar-Jesus’ who was a false prophet (Acts 13:6)..you haven’t quoted the word anywhere hence what you’ve written is purely opinion.
You say no prophet ever was/will be after Jesus, what about John the authour of Revelations?? the apostles? 7 daughters of Phillip? (who could do prophesy?)
The word clearly tells us how to differentiate true prophets from false ones..did you refer to the word?
What makes him not a true prophet of God? Don’t the events he predicts not come to pass? Doesn’t he preach in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth? Does he lead people to Christ Jesus?..baas!

  4. Nashon, Thank you for printing your narrowed, ignorant, jealous and mis-informed comments. The Bible records in Hosea chapter 4 that “My people perish because they lack knowledge” so you become a fulfilment of this scripture. The Bible is very big, deep and wide. Your simple human analysis led by low human knowledge and no foundation is doom to you and the few narrow minds that might rally behind you. The Bible needs the Holy Spirit to understand, not simple opinions of men.

If you think you have anything worth helping any believer, put it on print. Your fight against truth is a show of your bondage in sin and your obedience to your father the devil who you worship and serve. You cannot stop truth.

Nashon THE LORD REBUKE YOU IN JESUS NAME! REPENT AND BE BORN AGAIN. STOP BEING USED BY SATAN TO DECEIVE PEOPLE ON INTERNET. THE DEVIL YOU SUBSCRIBE TO HAS NOTHING GOOD FOR YOU AND MEN.

  5. Christians worships their leaders.you may be better placed before “god” than the self appointed”prophets and prophettess”. God has never sent woman to be prophet but there are many “prophettess” in the world. For how long will christians continue to be deceived?

  6. Hello, I happened to be researching on this topic and came to this site;and after reading this post, I can confidently say that you should go deeper in the word of God. Christians must be rich in all ways. Rich physically and spiritually too. Old testament patriarchs were rich from Abraham, David, Solomon…name them. Remember, the old testament was a preamble of what really was to come and the Spirit of God operated only on individuals, and after the ascension of Jesus, he baptized all who believed in Him with Holy Spirit and Fire. Do you think He is a different Spirit, No!!! He is still the Spirit that was upon Solomon Abraham, Isaac, He is the Spirit who created the world, the universe, the milky way. So when you talk about material wealth what do you mean. However, its upon you to follow the kingdom of God and all shall be added. Take for instance Job, he was rich every rich but lost all after Satan attack. It is only after this that he was restored and made X7 RICHER!!! and gave birth to beautiful daughters like no other on earth till now. So you want to tell me that you think you have seen beautiful girls!! No you haven’t, Job had them so you can imagine how beautiful they were . After believing in Jesus you are given authority and you rule from the highest heavens with Him. How then can you really be poor if you Reign with him? Think about it? You are damn wrong when it comes to riches..Food for thought
